January lights the second

Two things popped up for my eye yesterday. One thing was Leigh-Ann saying she felt like it was ages since she wrote anything. And it feel like ages for me too.

But then I thought hey, we have just finnished writing 50K words and then some! How come it feels then like it was a long time ago? Does only few weeks absence from writing cause this? Perhaps it is so. I did my first assignment for a long time and indeed it felt rosty and crinky (is that a word? it sould be)

What are your thoughts about this my friends? Are we never happy? Odd creatures we writers are.

The other thing getting my attention was worn out expressions and tired sentences sneaking in our writing. We should always remember these sneaky bastards. I have an eye for them because I use so much of them. As the worn out expression says: it takes one to know one.

Many times I have noticed and some have also pointed it out to me about my writing where other peoples coined expressions pop up. It is so easy, the easiest thing on earth to not think, take the unique path.

Wait a minute... didn't someone once wrote an entire piece that included only chlices? Was it Sandra? I remember it was totally hillarious. Perhaps the person who wrote it could provide us a link or something. It really is worth reading again, just as a reminder.
